Opened in 1925 Belmont Park is an amusement park located on Mission Beach just 15 minutes north of Downtown San Diego.  It boast a wooden roller coaster, The Plunge (public swimming pool) and many more activities for the young and young at heart tourist and local resident.

Located just feet away from the Mission Beach boardwalk it makes a great combo of an amusement park visit and a day at the beach.

The roller coaster, the Giant Dipper is listed in the register of Historic Places.  It is one of the last of its kind still in operation and never fails to put a smile on a childs face to ride it.

The rides may not be on the scale of Disneyland or Magic Mountain but make a great activity for children to enliven their visit to San Diego.
