Pacific Beach is located about 25 minutes north of downtown San Diego and the airport. It is known as the family beach during the day and at night, it is the party scene for our local universities college students. Sandy beaches, long boardwalk and sea side dining with plenty of bars and night clubs make this the most popular beach in the San Diego area. Parking is extremely troublesome in times of good weather.
There is a pier, life guard station and fabulous restaurants such as the local favorite, Konos which serves it’s notorious, Big Plate breakfast and lunch only. Lines are long at this spot so expect to wait in line.
Wave height varies at all of San Diego beaches but Pacific Beach is the most popular beach for serious surfers.
Pacific Beach has a busy boardwalk with shops, restaurants, hotels and AirBNBs all along its length. Wahini’s is a popular clothing store to get the perfect bikini and other Southern California beach wear.
Baja Betty and Oscar’s Mexican Food are some of the local favorite dining places here.
