Seaport Village is a replica of a 1800ish European seaside village. Home to over 70 shops and restaurants, it is a tourist destination for visitors and a relaxing go to spot for the San Diego locals. Located in downtown San Diego it was opened in 1980 and continues to be a great days outing.
A beautiful calm serene place it has a walkway from the San Diego Convention Center to the Water Front District where cruise ships, the Midway Museum and various other sail age ships are on display. Visitors are able to walk along the coast viewing yachts as well as U.S. Navy ships stationed at nearby North Island Naval Air Station. Ofter aircraft carriers are in port just across the harbor. No better place to get your steps in and definetly a number one spot for vacation selfies.
There is a wide range of restuarants for bay side dining and plenty of vendors to catch your attention as well as the scenic Victorian and Spanish style architure to admire. Seaport Village has ponds, and wooden bridges to delight the children and beautifully maintained all year round. The exhibits include San Diego’s first municipal jail house.
